Life seems to be slowly getting back to normal for fashion model/blogger Lauren Scruggs, who was maimed in a horrific plane accident four months ago.
In a video seen on Tuesday's Today show, Scruggs was seen wearing workout clothes and a bright smile — and the first time sans a sleeve covering her severed arm.
The video comes amid reports the 23-year-old may be getting a book deal and settled with the plane’s insurance company for more than $1 million.
“There’s been a lot of talk that she’s going to do a book. ... It’s going to be really upbeat, really inspirational, because that’s what kind of girl Lauren is,” E!

Scruggs made national news in December when she walked into a propeller after exiting from the small passenger plane in darkness, also losing her left eye. She had been with a family friend, Curt Richmond, who had taken her to see Christmas lights in the dark in the Dallas area.
In the months since her accident, her amazing progress has been documented by her parents on their blog. She has also started writing on her fashion blog again and has often tweeted on her personal account.
The reports over her argument with the plane’s insurance company seemed to take its toll on her family, however.
“Seems weird to have peace, as it’s been a particularly hard week,” her mother wrote on her Caring Bridge blog.
